My friend has the larger size and I loved it. This spinner is quality made, and easier to use than pull string or pump models. I love the collander and see-thru design. This mini size is perfect for someone in an apartment or having limited space. I would have bought the larger size if it had been available.

First I must say I did not buy mine from Amazon, nor did I even buy it "new" (although it was in "like new" condition). I was fortunate enough to find this awesome little gadget at a thrift shop for $2.00, but after using it I would definately pay the nearly $18.00 for it!

I hate wet salad greens! I have spent more money than I wish to disclose on spinners. I've tried everything from the cheapest spinners to more expensive (Tupperware, Pampered Chef, etc). I have found most of them to be awkward to hold and spin at the same time. This little spinner is PERFECT! The ratchet is so easy to work, I could see someone with joint issues finding this much more comfortable than the others. I love the break on it too.

Here's how I use mine... I put the salad in the basket (in the bowl), put cold water in the bowl and ratchet it a time or two to wash the greens, drain the water and spin the heck out of it until it's dry!!! Be sure to keep your hands on it while it's... Read more

This is a great spinner. I found if I rinse my lettuce in the basket, spin and store the lettuce in the spinner in the frig, the lettuce stays fresh for weeks!

I have the large version of the Zyliss spinner and love it. Wanted the smaller version because I make an individual salad everyday and the size is perfect. The spinning action is great! The only complaint I have is that the parts of the cover do not come apart for cleaning as they do in the larger version. I recommend this spinner over other brands which I have tried and returned, as they spin only minimally compared to this one, thus not drying your lettuce as efficiently.

I have both large and small Zyliss spinners. They are the greatest, except that the pull mechanism eventually gives out. On the larger one, the string pull got out of whack, and somehow i got it working again, but the with the smaller one, it just seems to be out of commission for good.

It's too bad, because they improved the design by making the lid two-piece, so you can pull it apart to clean it. But it was too much to pay to have to fiddle with it to get it to work, and then eventually have it stop working entirely.

this is the perfect size for spinning lettuce for two people or for drying herbs, seeding tomatoes etc. It spins really fast and is very easy to use. My only complaint is that it is awkward to hold on to when spinning.

I probably go through at least six heads of lettuce a week in my house, and since I'm not into eating dirt, organic or not, I need a sturdy salad spinner. This is not it. I don't mind that I have to empty the bowl and spin again. What I do mind is that the rip-cord stopped "catching" properly after a couple of weeks, and then snapped free after a couple of months.

I've seen this on sale several places, and if you only need to wash lettuces once or twice a week and you can get it cheap, then it might be worth it. But if you're into preparing salads every day and need to use it on a daily basis, it's not worth it. It's too bad because it's good-looking.

This spinner worked just fine for us for about a year, but recently the fabric string casing around the pull string started to fray and then snapped entirely. Now I'm searching on Amazon for a spinner that isn't a pull string...

I bought this salad spinner on sale and have found it to be very cheaply made. The components of the lid have been glued together, and mine came apart after I had used it 2 or 3 times. I cannot see why an item that comes into contact with water frequently would be glued. I have re-glued mine, but do not know how long it will last this way, I just hated to throw the whole thing out. My advice would be to invest in a better quality product, you really do get what you pay for.
